What Makes Our School Unique?

Lockeland Design center is located in the Lockeland Springs are of East Nashville. The school was completed in 1939 on the site of the former Lockeland monsion. Our beautiful historic building, located near Shelby Park, is full of character and charm. Our students, parents and fauclty are thrilled with our newly renovated building and playground.
Design Centers are schools with a specific emphasis. Lockeland's emphasis is Literature. Literature is a medium utilized at Lockeland to increase student knowledge and achievement in all subject areas. In addition to the core subjects offered at Lockeland, students also receive art, music and physical education instruction. Daily Spanish instruction is also offered to students in grades K-4. Students are provided with various opportunities to develop their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
We invite you to visit Lockeland Elementary and discover a school that offers a strong sense of community, a challenging academic program and a love for children.
